Bass Pro Shops CEO Makes Major Inflation Announcement

Bass Pro Shops

I grew up in a small town where the announcement from my father of an impending trip to the nearest Bass Pro Shops a hundred and fifty miles away was an all-day adventure.

We would get up early in the morning, make the three-hour drive to Bass Pro Shops, spend nearly the entire day there, and walk away with practically all the fishing equipment we needed for several months after that.

Dad would buy so much stuff that when I went to go visit over Christmas last year he still had spools of fishing line left over from my last childhood visit to Bass Pro Shops with him over two decades ago.

He always told me that you never know when prices are going to go up so you should always buy what you think you are going to need in the future as well.

Unfortunately, the last several years have seen rises in price in just about every avenue where money can be exchanged for goods and services.

It’s especially troubling when it comes to the angling community because fishing used to be one of those things where it was a relatively inexpensive hobby to engage in.

One of the reasons why we did so much fishing as kids, as my dad put it, is because it was cheaper than going to the movies and was a sight more thrilling.

This is why the recent announcement from Bass Pro Shops CEO Johnny Morris was a welcome relief.

In an interview, he states that despite inflation raising the cost of everything across the board, the company remains focused on affordability as we head into the parts of the year where boating and fishing is at its peak.

In addition to across the board affordable options on every type of product that Bass Pro Shops offers, they are offering some amazing payment plans for folks who want to purchase boats that are as low as five dollars per day.

Now, the idea of paying five dollars a day to own a fishing boat seems like an absolute dream in terms of affordability.

It doesn’t take all that much figuring in a person’s budget to see where you can find the five or ten dollars it would take to be able to make the dream of owning your own fishing boat a reality.

Besides, when you think of the cost of chartering a fishing boat it pales in comparison to setting aside a minor fraction of your income even in this economy.

It might just be me, but it might be this line of thinking by the Bass Pro Shops CEO that caused my dad to drive three hundred miles round trip to buy fishing supplies from the store for so many years.
