Drone Fishing FAIL!
It’s clear that there are mixed feelings about the presence of drones, and they’re here to stay for now.
With the rise in aerial shots being used in video production and offering stunning visuals, I am part of a growing population who recognize the potential it brings.
Even though this technology can be misused, there are many creatives using aerial shots as a way to express their story.
One of the earliest uses people came up with in the outdoors community led to the popular concept of drone fishing.
To reach those tough-to-fish spots, you tie a hook and line to a drone and fly it over the water. In the past, surf fishermen have used them to reach deeper water with their hooks.
An expensive piece of electronic hardware must be handled with care.
Most drones are not waterproof, so you’d be looking at an expensive mistake if you made a mistake on the sticks.
This fishing video proves that with a bass hooked on the other end, physics becomes a simple case of physics and you get an expensive paperweight in no time!
As the drone takes off, a man holds a watertop lure and lets it go as it flies away with it. A man lowers the drone so that the lure hits the water when he flies it out. When he circles back up through the middle of the pond, he starts “fishing.”
Suddenly something grabs the lure as the drones buzz seems to change as he comes back up through in front of the cameraman.
There’s a fish on!
The drone struggles to lift the fish out of the water as the pilot pulls it up, but it does, and it is a nice one, especially for a first-time drone fisherman.
“Oh my God! Hahahaha”
“Oh NO!”
After it hooks and pulls up the bass, it dives back into the water.
I guess the drone wasn’t weighted for a bass that big.
A bird’s eye view from the drone shows the bass coming up, which is far better than the shore footage.
Immediately after, the man rushes into the water to grab his drone and the fish.
I would bet a pretty penny that this fella feels pretty stupid after getting his hands on both. A few hundred bucks for an average bass? Not worth it…
In any case, I’m not complaining about this guy wrecking his drone for our entertainment.
