Fishermen Make Astonishing Find!
I have owned dogs all of my life, so to say that I have a soft spot for them would be a bit of an understatement.
Their loyalty is almost unmatchable, including any human beings you might consider to be family. They are also sometimes the first to express concern for you when you are in distress.
Give you an example. About fifteen years ago, I had a tooth that had to be pulled that turned out to be a marathon of pulling. It was almost as if the Almighty had cemented the darn thing in.
It ends up being a waking operation for lack of a better term, and I come home from the dentist and immediately went to sleep.
I wake up about two hours later with my dog at the time (Benny) with his nose directly up to my mouth smelling it.
I jolt out of bed at the site of the dog eyeball to eyeball with me, and he jumps off the bed, runs down the hallway, and begins barking towards where everyone is sitting in the living room to tell them I am ok. Benny was a good boy.
So anytime someone helps a dog that is in distress, I am going to sing their praises as long and as hard as I can.
Which brings me to the following story. A group of fisherman from Mississippi are justfiyingly being lauded as heroes after saving nearly forty dogs from growing in an Arkansas lake.
Three men were fishing on Lake Grenada in Arkasnas when out of nowhere they heard what sounded like dozens upon dozens of dogs barking.
They looked towards where they thought the noise was coming from and said to themselves that there were some dogs in definite trouble.
So they navigated their boat towards the dogs and found thirty-eight of them frantically treading water.
The three men estimated that they had been there for approximately an hour.
When they got to the dogs, they stopped what they were doing and began loading all thirty-eight dogs onto their boat and brought them to safety.
The dogs in question were part of a fox hunt that went awry when the dogs made it into the water but couldn’t get out.
The more heartening thing is that the men who saved the dogs refused to take any kind of reward, saying that it was just the right thing to do.
Any time someone helps a dog in distress, it needs to be highlighted.
