Mysterious Object Washes Ashore on Beach, Now The Mystery Has Been Solved
On July 16, located at a beach in Green Head about 155 miles north of Perth, local residents made a startling discovery. A large out-of-place gold cylinder appeared to have washed ashore mysteriously, being about 2.5 meters long and made entirely out of metal.
Pictures of the object quickly went viral online and sparked the imaginations of internet sleuths who began to guess its origin.
At first, some thought it was related to the missing MH370 flight, but this was debunked by Western Australia police who declared that it did not originate from a commercial aircraft. A Reddit user suggested that the object could be closely linked to India’s Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV) rocket and Dr Alice Gorman of Flinders University in Adelaide agreed with this theory.
Dr Gorman further elaborated that these objects are fuel tanks which drop off after launch and usually end up floating over the ocean until they’re displaced by storms or other natural phenomena ultimately washing them ashore.
She also reassured everyone that touching it won’t lead to any explosions and added that while rocket fuel is toxic, solid fuel is generally safe unless burning occurs.
The Australian Space Agency has since confirmed that there is a strong chance this is part of a foreign launched rocket though details remain unclear at present time. They stated: “We are currently making enquiries related to this object located on a beach near Jurien Bay in Western Australia” adding “This one was solid fuel which is generally safe unless it’s actually burning.”
WA police have since declared the object safe following an analysis conducted by the Department of Fire and Emergency Service and Chemistry Centre while investigations continue into what exactly this thing is all about.
This strange cylinder has captivated onlookers around Australia as theories swirl around trying to solve its unknown origin story. With expert analysis confirming its safety we can only wait with anticipation for more information about what exactly washed up onto Green Head’s shoreline.
