4th Of July Shark Attack Frenzy [VIDEO]

When I was a little boy, maybe seven or right years old, I saw the movie Jaws for the first time and that immediately gave me a lifelong fear of sharks.

Having grown up on one of the Great Lakes, I didn’t exactly have to worry too much about getting eaten by a shark; but in my child mind it remained a constant threat.

However, I am older now and have a family with my wife in Florida. We live about a thirty minute drive from several amazing beaches and can be at one of them almost the whole year.

I rarely go into the water due to the idea that somewhere out there is a massive creature with teeth like a chainsaw that can eat you whole like it was nothing.

Florida isn’t the only place in the country like this. The parts of Texas that are on the Gulf of Mexico are often subject to shark attacks.

As a matter of fact, over the Fourth of July weekend, four separate shark attacks took place within a short amount of time off of South Padre Island.

Now I have been to South Padre Island and I have to say it is one of the most beautiful places in the world. I never would think for a minute that going there would cost someone their life.

The strange thing about these four separate shark attacks is that it is believed that one single shark was behind every last one of the attacks.

One attack was relatively minor, if you can call a shark attack minor, in which a beachgoer was bitten on the thigh.

What might be the worst and most catastrophic of the four shark attacks was one that happened to a woman who had her left calf absolutely decimated.

It is one of the most gruesome and graphic things I have ever seen.

The mere idea that there is a creature where hundreds and thousands of people are enjoying a day with their families attacking people is just terrifying.

It’s one of those things that makes you just want to buy a pool and never go in any other water than what’s in that pool.
