Teen Boy Makes Record Breaking Catch..
I’ve probably said before that due to where I grew up I caught a lot of perch in my time, especially in my teens.
I’m pretty familiar with that fish. I probably caught my weight in them when I was in my teens.
Fishing is always a good wholesome activity for teens to get into, even when they are on that weird end of their teenage years where they are adults.
Let’s face it, we all think we know everything once we turn eighteen but we are still developing and face the threat of starting bad habits going into our twenties.
It’s why I was so fortunate that I lived where I lived where there wasn’t much to do but fish.
Christopher Barrett is someone that sounds like he has the same mental attitude that I did when I was nineteen, that there’s nothing better in this world than a day fishing.
He’s from Berks County in Pennsylvania, which is low key a damn fine place for some fishing.
He recently caught a white perch that was absolutely record breaking.
The Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission recently weight a white perch that he caught and it weighed in at two pounds and one ounce beating the previous record by over a quarter of a pound.
When interviewed about his record breaking catch, as soon as he pulled it out of the water everyone that was in the boat with him said it was the biggest white perch they had ever seen.
I have to admit, that’s one of those thing that is always rewarding as a fisherman is to have the size of your catch confirmed by a state agency.
That way when you are sitting somewhere talking about the record breaking catch you caught, you can point to the actual record book that your name is in.
That being said, Chris has got a long life ahead of him and hopefully a good deal more fishing.
I would imagine that if he is setting these kinds of records while still in his teens it stands to reason that he is going to set even more by the time he is an old man.
